Leading with Learning

Discover how you can create meaningful learning cultures that enable teams to adapt, reflect and grow together.

When working in complexity – where challenges are dynamic, interdependent and often unpredictable – learning becomes a critical means for navigating uncertainty, adapting to change and discovering diverse perspectives that reveal possible ways forward.

Unlike linear problems, the complex challenges we encounter in practice cannot be solved with fixed solutions; they require continuous inquiry, experimentation and reflection. Leading with Learning is a six-session programme for leaders who want to think differently about how they and their organisations learn – and how to create conditions for learning to become a genuine force for positive change.

Over six interactive sessions, you will explore what learning really means, how to nurture the conditions for it to flourish, and how to connect learning cycles to meaningful practice change. Each session builds on the last, supported by a peer learning community that continues long after the course ends.

Over six sessions, you will explore the following interconnected themes, building a peer learning community as you go.

✨ Understand how learning and leadership are inseparable in complex practice

✨ Create conditions for genuine learning to flourish in your team or organisation

✨ Connect personal reflection to meaningful practice change

✨ Move beyond training days and tick-box CPD to a culture of continuous learning

✨ Develop alongside a peer learning community of people facing similar challenges

Leaders, managers and practitioners in social care, education, health and community settings who want to create and sustain meaningful learning cultures.

All six sessions are designed to facilitate peer learning. You will increasingly take on greater responsibility for supporting each other in applying your learning to your practice context and leadership role.

Acquiring new skills and insights into learning, connecting theory, values and practical methods for creating learning cultures.

Finding ways to apply your learning in practice, creating space for self-reflection within the peer learning community, and identifying opportunities to develop a learning culture across your organisation.

Feeling confident and purposeful about creating positive change, and developing a clear sense of what kind of leader you want to be.

Leading with Learning is co-facilitated by Gabriel Eichsteller from ThemPra and Roger Duck from Mapsar. Together they bring a rich combination of social pedagogy leadership, learning theory and organisational development expertise to the programme.
